Lincoln seniors hope project helps the homeless
Lincoln High School Seniors in the Lincoln High Engineering and Construction Academy, Austin Ortega and Norris Palmer stand inside the Habitable Urban Tent (Hut), a low-cost, durable and easily assembled structure they designed and built to provide immediate shelter for homeless, victims of natural disasters or in third world countries. The HUT is designed from an equilateral triangle, takes up a space of 8 feet by 8 feet by 8 feet and requires no tools or special labor. In the fall, Palmer will attend the University of Southern California and major in architecture. Ortega will go to the University of the Pacific and major in mechanical engineering. Proud of you Austin and Norris!
